Stepping up to supervision is about supporting new managers in their role.  High quality managers and team leaders are essential for a profitable quality business. The aim of this unique and bespoke series of workshops is to develop and build on existing skills to ensure the full potential of the team. It will establish the role of supervision and the development required to lead and manage an engaged team. It will include strategic tasks, problem solving and undertaking of work based actions to address real issues.

The key requirements for the business and development opportunities for the team will be to:

  • Manage your team – how to get the best out of them and deal with day to day queries, issues; and difficult conversations.
  • Be proactive and not reactive through innovative planning.
  • Delegate effectively– how to get tasks completed, ensure working and completion of tasks within timescales.
  • Deliver Customer Service to internal and external customers – how to communicate effectively when dealing with customers.
  • Utilise leadership and coaching for empowerment – how to lead from the front.  Understand you are a role model and your team looks to you.  One of the key aspects is to get people empowered to do their jobs and develop initiative to make day to day decisions.

The three day course outline is given below. The format will be one of participation and finding realistic solutions to everyday issues; with the opportunity to take action and make improvements between sessions. There will be pre and post course briefings.
