The Supervisor’s Toolkit provides a confident start to managing people. You can be promoted to supervisor or manager because you are good at what you do. The skills required to do the job are different to those needed to manage people.  For example; “How do you change from being one of the team to being the boss?” is a frequently asked question.

‘If a man’s only tool is a hammer, he tends to treat everything  as a nail’  Abraham Maslow.

This series of three practical workshops will provide you with a range of people management ‘tools’ to

A hammer is not always the right tool for the job

enable you to:

  • Confidently lead and manage your team.
  • Resolve everyday practical problems with more innovation.
  • Communicate effectively to reduce misunderstandings.
  • Make effective use of time and improve productivity.
  • Make your role easier and less stressful with an engaged team.
  • Gain the outcomes you need by being able to adapt your style to a variety of situations and individuals.

Having a full range of ‘tools’ to draw on allows you to adapt to the situation, handle a variety of people and gain the outcome you need. The ultimate goal is to have a fully functional, motivated, productive team, which is performing to their best combined ability.

What you will learn:

  • Definition of  your supervisory role and the necessary skills required.
  • The difference between leadership and management.
  • The importance of communication and team development.
  • The impact of your behaviours in handling difficult situations.
  • How to take responsibility for your actions and decision making.
  • What is required to effectively get the task done and implement processes.
  • Ways to improve productivity and resolve common issues.
  • How to engage and motivate the team.

The open course has three sessions at fortnightly intervals to allow implementation of the learning and agreed actions.

  • Supervision and Communication     24th January 2018
  • Making the Best Use of Time              7th February 2018
  • Maintaining an Effective Team          21st February 2018

Investment

Your investment in the Supervisor’s Toolkit is £405 for the series of three workshops.  This is per person and all inclusive with no VAT. Concessions can be made for multiple bookings. There are pre- and post-course briefings as part of the package.
